STEM All Stars Rally India 2015

The STEM All Stars Rally was a free event held on July 29,2015 from 10am to 1pm at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, India sponsored by STEM All Stars and Goethe Zentrum.This rally was organized by STEM All Stars to spread STEM awareness and advocate STEM for girls. Over 300 girls participated in the rally, including powerful, inspirational speakers. These speakers included the principal of Gitanjali Senior School, Maya Sukumaran, Devi Bhupathiraju, an experienced lawyer fighting for women’s rights.  Under-privileged schools in India lack awareness about our STEM fields, especially the technological side of our world. Holding this event provided motivation for many and helped them know about STEM All Stars international cause.

Keynote Speakers

Maya Sukumaran

Maya Sukumaran holds a degree in education and a post-graduate in mathematics. She did a course in Vedic mathematics and from then, her love for STEM began. Maya has 29 years of teaching experience in schools of repute. She conducts workshops and seminars, authored mathematics textbooks, and presented her papers at an international conference at IIT Madras. She was also the head of the department of mathematics at the Ivy League Academy. Ms. Sukumaran now wants to change the lives of many students with her teaching experience.

Devi Bhupathyraju

Mrs. Bhupathyraju is our coordinator in India. Mrs. Bhupathyraju is a commerce graduate and law graduate from Osmania University. From the time she was a child, she was always interested in women’s and children’s rights. She has a post-graduate diploma in the law of ethics from Central University. Served interacts with various children on different social causes. She believes that technology should reach a common man globally and simple thinking is the way to success. “One small difference can change the whole world,” she says. Mrs. Bhupathyraju proved service to others as a lawyer by standing on the side of justice, helping girls in STEM, and adopting children to educate them. She hopes to help the maximum possible with her greatest efforts.
